David K. "Buzz" Bowker, 75, a lifelong resident of Walton, passed away early Thursday morning, December 3, 2009 at home, following a long illness.

Buzz was born on June 21, 1934 in Beerston, the son of the late Daniel and Iva (Thomas) Bowker. On October 27, 1956 he married the former Lucille Seaman in Walton. He was a graduate of Walton Schools and attended Cornell University's milk testing course. He was self employed for many years on the family farm, and later at Del-Met Corp and Countryside Care Center in the maintenance dept.

Buzz enjoyed fishing, bowling in the farmers league and hunting. He hunted for the last time just a couple of weeks ago. He also loved his family, spending time with Lucille, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving family, his wife Lucille, two daughters: Lisa (Allen) Nunley of Walton, Christina (Pete) Panos of NYC, four sons: Daniel R. (Annette) Bowker, David T. (Yvonne) Bowker, both of Walton, Ricky R. Bowker of Meyersdale, PA, and Jody K.(Judy) Bowker of Walton, NY; 20 grandchildren, Shellie, Kyle, Dustin, Daniel Jr., Rebecca, Connie, David, Cheyanne, Tristen, Thomas, Sean, Shane, Shannon, Collin, Katie, Dustin, Amber, Trisha, Kristina, Allen Jr., 8 great-grandchildren, Madison, Tyler, Destiny, Dezerae, Phoenix, Grace, Gavin and Emily, 1 sister, Alana Shaw, Davenport Center; sister-in-law, Mary Bowker, North Sanford/Deposit; Marguerite Mosher, Walton; Janice Ewain, Trout Creek; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by brothers, Thomas, Daniel, and Richard and his stepfather, Herman Fletcher.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Saturday, December 5, 2009 from 2 to 4 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
