Obituary

David H. James, 66 of Sidney Center, passed away Friday afternoon at home, unexpectedly.

David was born in the town of Franklin on February 27, 1941, the son of the late Aubrey and Evelyn (Fleming) James. He was a graduate of Delaware Academy, class of 1959 and later attended Albany State. On June 1, 1968 he married the former Sandra Cammer at the United Presbyterian Church, Walton. He was employed as Technical Support, for the carpentry program at SUNY Delhi, retiring 4 years ago. He was the former captain and commander of the Company-D Army National Guard, Walton.

David was also head of the Delaware Lancers for several years and a founder of the Catskill Mountain Boys Club of Sidney Center. Dave was a talented carpenter and cabinet maker who loved making furniture for his many friends and family. Dave also loved to take cruises and travel with Sandy, as they went all over the world.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Sandy, 1 daughter, Lisa (Terry) Loveless, Greene;1 grandaughter, Aleana Kathryn Loveless; 1 sister, Phyllis L. Mullineaux, Liverpool;1 brother, Winfield (Rosalie) James, Oneonta; 3 sister in laws, Dawn Smith, Sidney Center; Carolyn Hudy, Binghamton; Donna (Brian) Rappleyea, Gloversville; 2 brother in laws, Ronald (Margaret) Cammer, Sidney; George Salisbury, California, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his beloved cats, Toby & Margaret. Dave was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Marcia Salisbury, mother and father in law, Lloyd and Mary Cammer.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, where services will be held at 1 PM with the Pastor Donald Crossman, officiating. Burial will follow in West Delhi Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Dave's memory may be made either to the West Delhi Presbyterian Church or the Northfield Community Church.
