David Reade 71 of Walton, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Countryside Care Center, Delhi.

David was born in Brooklyn on February 18, 1938 the son of the late Frank and Helen Reardon Reade. On October 1994 he married the former Carol Olsen. He was employed for many years as a security guard for Staten Island Armed Guard.

David was a member of the Walton Senior Citizens and served as its president in 1993. He was also a member of the Walton Historical Society and the Delhi Senior Citizens.

David is survived by his wife, Carol, who is a resident of Countryside Care Center, his foster mother, Betty Benintende. Also he is survived by his foster brothers, Charles (Mildred) of Wilmington, DE and Michael (Susan) of Mc Keesport, PA,Joseph, Oneonta; also by his foster sisters Marie (Edward) Roenelt of Stockholm, NJ and Isabelle (Casey) Caratelli of Unadilla, NY. and all the friends he made along the way. He was predeceased by his foster father, Michael Benintende in 1994.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 from 6 to 8 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton where services will be held on Wednesday morning at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Walton Cemetery.
