Dean B. Sawyer, 97 formerly of Oneonta passed away Monday evening, February 2, 2009 in the Countryside Care Center, Delhi, after a long illness.

Dean was born in Gloversville, NY on August 5, 1911. Dean was a graduate of Russell Sage College. She first married Donald Hyde. He died in 1974. She later married Donald Sawyer. He died in 2001.

Dean was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Christian Scientist Church, both of Gloversville.

Dean is survived by two daughters: Carol Hyde Warren of Englewood, Florida; and Marilyn Pennington of Walton, 9 grandchildren, Alicie, Sue, Stephen, Patricia, Denese, Nancy, Richard, Holly, Donald; 6 great grandchildren, Dustin, Brendon, Danielle, Alexzander, Zoey and Megan; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter Elizabeth Jean Pender in 1970.

Burial will take place in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
