Deborah M. MacGibbon, 66, of Walton passed away Tuesday August 8, 2017 following a brief illness. Deb was born on March 14, 1951 the daughter of John and Barbara (Roe) MacGibbon. She graduated from Walton Central High School in 1969 and continued her education in Syracuse. Returning to the Catskills she loved, Deb began a 35-year career at SUNY Delhi working in the Registrar's Office and Public Safety, retiring in 2006.

Always the first to help a friend or strangers, Deb took pride in her volunteer and community service. As past President of Post 32 of the American Legion Auxiliary, she was instrumental in getting packages sent to our servicemen overseas. She continued to serve the community with her preservation work with the Cemetery Association.

She enjoyed traveling with friends, visiting Hawaii, Alaska, the Mediterranean and would take a cruise whenever she got the chance. When she wasn't planning her next adventure she was always available as a loyal petsitter to many furry friends when their owners were in need.

Deborah is survived by her loving family: her brother Alan and Mary MacGibbon of Walton, her nieces Patricia and Cheryl MacGibbon of Florida, and several cousins;

Michael and Donna Stoutenberg of Mt. Upton; Kurt Stoutenberg of Oswego; Jessica and Byron Getman of Chittenango.

A graveside service was held at 11am on Thursday August 10, 2017 at the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton with the Reverend Bert More officiating.
