Delight C. Yeomans, 82 a life long resident of Walton, passed away Friday morning, November 10, 2006, at home following a long illness. Delight was born on May 19, 1924 in Walton, the daughter of the late George and Marie Wood Closs. On February 7, 1942 she married Harold Yeomans in Walton. He died on January 2, 1995. Delight worked for many years at McLean's Grocery. She was a member of the Walton Firemans Ladies Auxilary, Moose Club of Sidney, and the United Presbyterian Church, Walton. She also belonged to the Monday Nite , and the Tuesday morning bowling leagues for many years. She also loved bingo on any day or night. But most of all Delight loved her family. She had many pictures of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren throughout her home.
She is survived by 4 daughters, Marie and Donald Grube, Walton; Georgia Brundege, Endwell; Lois "Becky" and Steve Hodge, and Barb and Al Budine, both of Walton, 11 grandchildren, Kelly, Shawn, Stacy, Kevin, Eric, Brenda, Michelle, Michael, Jason, Matthew, and Kyle; 12 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Henry and "Bunny" Closs, Walton, Charles and Joyce Closs, Afton; 2 sisters, Amy Corgan, Walton, and Alice Linnaberry, Milford; sister in Laws, Bertha Foreman, Walton, Beverly Youmans, Neversink; Clarabel Closs, Walton, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a grandson, Brian Brundege, 3 brothers, Albert, George Jr., and Elton Closs.
Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home 25 Townsend St., Walton on Monday evening, November 13, 2006 from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at the United Presbyterian Church, Walton at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Thomas Ballard, officiating. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery.
