Denise D. Murphy, 51, of Colchester passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, following a long illness.

Denise was born on December 30, 1966 in Walton, the daughter of Alfretta "Sis" Doig.

Denise enjoyed taking care of children as she was known as the community babysitter. She would take them to school and pick them up. She enjoyed reading, playing computer games, and her doll collection.

Denise is survived by her loving family, her son, Jake (Kristin) Murphy of Downsville; her mother, "Sis" of Downsville; her significant other, Tim Stanton; brother, Dennis (Jackie) Murphy of Peeksville, NY; step sister and step brothers, David Doig of Downsville, NY; Lisa (Steve) Peaster of Downsville, NY; Colleen Collins of OK; Sparky Doig of Downsville; aunt and uncles, Sylvia and Steve Reed of Hamden, NY; Roy and Mary Lou Murphy of Unadilla, NY; like a sister, Julie (Sterling), and her girls, Shannon, Brianna, and Courtney of Downsville, her furbabies, Leo and Purada and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her dad, Paul (Pops) Doig on July 29, 2017.

Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
