Denman "Denny" Hulbert, 70, a lifelong resident of Walton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City.

Denny was born April 11, 1942 in Walton the son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Seymour) Hulbert. On July 3, 1965 he married Carol Roof of Sidney Center.

Denny owned and operated the Nascar and Embroidery Store in Walton. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Walton. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, watching NASCAR, snowmobile racing, watching Syracuse Basketball, NFL, and was a loyal fan of the Yankees. Most of all, Denny loved picnics, gatherings, and vacations with his family.

Denny is survived by his loving wife, Carol; his children, Wayne (Lori) Hulbert of Aurora, Colorado, Brenda (Jeremy) Miller of Walton, Tammie (Eugene) Clark of Washington, NC; his grandchildren, Cortney, Kesley, Denman "Cadin", Dylan, and Shane; his brothers, Ronald Hulbert of Walton, Barry (Mary) Hulbert of Ohio, Kevin (Maria) Sparling of VA; his sisters, Susan (Boyd) Respess of NC, and Nancy (Jerry) Constable of Sidney; his mother in law, Winnie Roof of Sidney Center; his brothers and sisters in law, Janet Hulbert and Loretta Hulbert of Walton, Bert Roof (Ruth Curtis) of Bainbridge, Joan Roof of Sidney Center, Lynn (Sharon) Roof of Sidney Center, and Carl (Suzette) Roof of Ohio. Denny was predeceased by 3 brothers, Carl, Jerald and Robert Hulbert and 2 sisters who died in infancy, Catherine and Patricia.

Friends and family are invited to call on Sunday afternoon, March 24, 2013 from 2 to 4 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton, where services will be held on Monday morning, March 25, 2013 at 11 AM with the Rev. Jay O'Connor, officiating.
