Dorcas "Dottie" Mae McCullagh, of Delhi, formerly of Walton, passed away peacefully at her home Monday, March 29, 2010.

Dottie was born October 11, 1920, in Bainbridge, the daughter of Simeon and Mattie Mae (Clark) Hendrickson.

She married Lawrence James McCullagh, Sr. in 1939 and they settled in Walton.

Dottie was an amazing cook and an avid camper, finding her communion with nature on Bear Spring Mountain with her children, Joanne (McCullagh) Wilson and Lawrence "Zeke" McCullagh, Jr., and eventually her grandchildren. They spent many a weekend enjoying her cuisine over a fire pit. She also played a mean game of Pitch.

Throughout it all, her main focus was her family.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband Lawrence, sister Marjorie (Hendrickson) Northrup-Dumond, her daughter Joanne and son-in-law Burton S. Wilson.

She is survived by her son Lawrence, 10 grandchildren: Eileen (Mark), Jeff (Kim), Brian (Patti), Jodi (Jerry), Jay (Abby), Robin (Erin), Becki, Margaret, Emily, Sarah, 18 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her border collie companion Mindy

Friends may call on the family from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 2 at Walton Cemetery, Fancher Ave., Walton.
