Doris L. Messmer, 77, of Downsville passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, January 11, 2010 at Delaware Valley Hospital.

Doris was born on February 25, 1932 in North Bergen, NJ, the daughter of the late Peter and Adele (Flesche) Ooms. On June 7, 1953 she married Roy H. Messmer in Richfield Park, NJ. In 1998 Doris and Roy moved to Downsville. She was a member of the Downsville Senior Citizens. Doris enjoyed arts and crafts.

Doris is survived by her loving family, her husband, Roy; her son, Roy (Barbara) Messmer Jr., Parsippany, NJ; 2 daughters, Debbie (Pete) Woeber, Parker, Colorado; Sharon (John) Podschelne, Milford, PA; 4 grandchildren, Corie (Corrie), Josh, Ryan, Paul, 3 great grandchildren, Paul, Amirah, Layana; a brother, Peter Ooms, sister, Marion (Ray) Scannell, both of Lehigh, Florida; several nieces nephews and cousins.
