Obituary

Dorothea C. Brundege, 97, of Franklin passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012 at Fox Hospital in Oneonta, following a short illness.

Dorothea was born on July 19, 1915 in the town of Tompkins, the daughter of Charles and Maude (Moore) Cook of Dry Brook.

Dorothea was employed as a secretary for Rock Royal Creamery in Rock Royal. She and her husband Glenn farmed it for many years together. She was a member of the Franklin Methodist Church where she served as the treasurer and a member of inter church council. In her spare time she loved to read. She served on the library board. She also belonged to reading club, craft club, and a quilting club.

Dorothea is survived by her children, Carolyn (John) Henglein of Ocean Pines, MD; Glenn (Elizabeth) Brundege, Jr. of Cuyahoga, OH; Sheridan (Ginger) Brundege of Glouster, VA; Audrey (James) Archibald of Franklin, NY; Larry (Carol) Brundege of Smith Mountain Lake, VA; her grandchildren, Timothy, Marilyn, Michael, LeeAnn and David, Colleen, Colette, Darlene, Craig, Dawn, Debbie, Darin, Robin, Lisa, Brad, Keri, her son in law, Ken Hoffman of GA and 33 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Glenn, her daughters, Marilyn Brundege and Shirley Hoffman, her great grandson, Corporal Nicholas Uzenski, her brother and sisters, Archibald Cook, Catherine Brundege and Louise Blencoe.

Friends and family are invited to call on Friday evening, December 14, 2012 from 5 to 7PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton.

Funeral services will be held at the Franklin United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 12 Noon with the Rev. John Hill, officiating. A calling hour will precede the service at 11AM Saturday morning. Burial to follow in the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton.
