Dorothy V. Horton, 84 of Delhi formerly of Walton passed away on Tuesday evening, November 11, 2008 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City.

Born in Binghamton on June 8, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Linda (O'Dell) Gibson.

Dottie was a faithful employee of Breakstone's in Walton. She served them for 34 years until her retirement in November of 1984.

Mrs. Horton was a member of the First Congregational Church of Walton. She was also a member of the Walton Veterans Club and the Trout Creek and Delhi Senior Citizens Clubs.

She is survived by two daughters: Georgianna Butts of Georgia and Vivian Walker of Delhi; a son: Victor Horton and wife Yovone of Georgia; one sister: Gertrude Washburn; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews & cousins.

Mrs. Horton was predeceased by her husband, Cleo William Horton in 1968 and her sister, Althea Wayman.

Friends may call on Saturday evening, November 15, 2008 from 4 - 6pm at Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, where a funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm, with Rev. Jennifer Matison Juliano officiating. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery.

The family has asked that memorial contributions may be made in Dottie's memory to Wilson Hospital, 33-57 Harrison Street, Johnson City, NY 13790 in appreciation of the attention given to them by the 5th floor staff during Dottie's illness.
