Dorothy M Lane, 83, of Sidney passed away on Wednesday morning, August 3, 2011 at Fox Hospital Nursing Home, Oneonta, following a long illness.

Dorothy was born on March 14, 1928 in Brooklyn, the daughter of the late William and Mary (McLaren) Finck. On January 28, 1945 she married John "Jack" W Lane, Sr. in Brooklyn he predeceased her on April 24, 1989.

Dorothy was employed for 26 years at Bendix, Corp as an Inspector. She was a member of the Bainbridge United Methodist Church and the Bainbridge Senior Citizens where she served as a past President.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Dorothy (William) Moore of Sidney, NY; John Lane of Walton, NY; Barbara (Philip) Proctor of Olean, NY; Linda (Victor)Rowland of NC; George Lane of Walton, NY; her 12 grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Douglas Lane on January 22, 1972, and her brothers, William and John Finck.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Friday, August 5, 2011 from 11 to 1 PM at the United Methodist Church, 101 North Street, Walton, where services will be held following visitation at 1PM with Rev. Mark Del Giudice, officiating. Burial will follow in Walton Cemetery.
