Dorothy A. Weiss, 89, of Oneonta, NY passed away at Fox Hospital, Friday February 2, 2018, after a brief illness.

Born on November 18, 1928 in NYC, she was the daughter of Mary & John Bennetti. Dorothy had a long career as a mortgage officer at Beacon Federal Savings & Loan Association in Baldwin, NY. She was a wise business woman and a self-taught economic investor. Upon retirement, she pursued her love of books by working at The North Bellmore Public Library. Dorothy was proud to have been employed at the library for over twenty years, working until the age of 83.

In 2013, she sold her home in Bellmore and relocated to The Plains Parish Homestead in Oneonta, where she lived independently until her death. Dorothy could always be found reading, chatting with friends, and playing bingo.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Ronald J. Weiss (Marian Hiemstra), Robert J. Weiss (Maryann), daughter, Patricia A. Weiss, grandchildren; Andrew (Katie), Lauren, Bryan (Christina), Shannon Curtin (Dean), Michael Schiano, great-granddaughters, Ava, Kaylin, and Ellison. She is also survived by Ronald's step-daughters, Rebecca and Larissa Hughes.
