Obituary

Douglas W. Peck, 84, a longtime resident of Walton, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Wilson Memorial Hospital of Johnson City, following a long illness.

Doug was born on April 13, 1932 in Corbett, the son of the late Willard and Doris (Simpson) Peck. On November 13, 1993 he married the former Barbara Kilmer. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was last employed at Delhi College as a groundskeeper.

Doug enjoyed camping and went all over camping at Kellystone, Vermont and in Delaware County. He enjoyed watching wrestling, NASCAR, and cheering on the 49ers.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his children, Nick And Tammy Peck of Longview, TX, Bryan And Doretta Peck of Nichols, TX, Richard And Kim Hughs of Syracuse, NY, Roger And Pat Hughs of Satsuma, FL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, his Uncle, Steve and Rose Simpson of Norwich, and several cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 11AM to 1PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, Walton where services will be held at 1PM with Pastor Bryan Peck, officiating. Burial will follow in the Walton Cemetery with full military honors.
