Duane E. Smith, 64 of Trout Creek, passed away Tuesday morning September 6, 2005 in Fox Hospital Oneonta, after a short illness.

Duane was born in Walton the son of the late Kenneth and Grace Filer Smith on July 27, 1941. He married Dawn Cammer on October 19, 1968 in the United Presbyterian Church, Walton. He was self employed as a farmer and drove school bus for Walton Central School.

Duane was a founding member of the Trout Creek Vol. Fire Dept. He loved collecting and working on antique tractors. He also participated in tractor pulls.

He is survived by his wife: Dawn Smith; one son, Denny L. Smith of Trout Creek, and a daughter, Dawna L. Smith, of Gloversville. He was predeceased by an uncle, Everett Filer.

Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, September 8, 2005 from 7 to 9 PM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St, Walton, where

funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, with the Rev. Delbert Ripley officiating.

Burial will be in Walton Cemetery.
