Eben L. Fitch, 80, a lifetime resident of Walton passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at home in Walton.

Eben was born June 25, 1931 in Walton, on the family farm he lived his whole life. He was the son of the late George and Beulah (Mains) Fitch. On September 12, 1953 he married the former Joyce Wood at the United Presbyterian Church in Walton.

Eben was self employed as a dairy farmer on the Fitch Family Farm in Walton. He was a member of the New York State Association of Artifical Breeders and the American Agricultrist. He enjoyed taking short vacations especially enjoyed traveling to Cape Vincent and Oneida Lake.

He is survived by his loving family, his wife Joyce, his two sons, Milton (Verna) Fitch, Ken (Linda) Fitch all of Walton; his grandchildren, Wayne, Scott, Tammy, Debra, Ken Jr., William, Richard, several great grandchildren, his sisters-in-law, Gert Fitch, Jean Gardepe, Margaret (Howard) Robinson, Georgianna(Niles) McCall, his brothers, Earl (Ellie) Wood, Jr., Donald Wood, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a son Eben in 1991; his sisters, Mary Sherman, Grace Wayman, Vera Bush, Agnes Wood, and his brothers, Harland Fitch, Howard Fitch, and Sheldon Fitch.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 1PM at the Walton Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Lisa Ruth Mays Officiating.
