Edith Loker, 87 a life long resident of Walton, passed away Tuesday evening, November 18, 2008 in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, after a long illness.
Edith was born in Walton, on June 21, 1921, the daughter of the late Robert and Madge (Wilson) Tweedie. She was a graduate of Walton High School and Albany Business School. On December 27, 1941 she married Milton H. Loker in Walton. He died on November 24, 2002.
Edith was a secretary employed for many years for the Walton School District at Townsend St. and at the High School. She later worked for the ARC in Hamden. She was a long time member and past matron of the Order of Eastern Star, and the Walton United Presbyterian Church, serving in many capacities.
Edith enjoyed knitting and quilting, making many gifts for her many family and friends. She was a kind lady who always thought of others' feelings first.
Edith is survived by three daughters: Kay B. Tvrdik of Fort Myers, Florida; Ann M. and John Ehrlich of Wayne , New Jersey; Jean L. Loker-Solomon of Rochester, two sons: Gary and Linda Loker of Bayport, Long Island, Mark And Patti Loker of Walton; 8 grandchildren, Lisa, Adam, Caroline, Dana, Doug, Jacqueline, Mark, Claire; 7 Great Grandchildren; 2 brother- In-laws, Charles Loker of Delancey, Vince Loker, Kerrville, Texas; sister-in-law, Betty Foreman of Hemlock, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Edith was predeceased by her granddaughter, Ashley MacNaught, brother, Leroy Tweedie, and son-in-law, Fred Tvrdik
Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday, November 20, 2008 from 6 to 8 PM at Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, NY. Funeral services will be held Friday at 12 noon at the Walton United Presbyterian Church, 58 East Street, with the Rev. Dr. Lisa Ruth Mays, officiating. Interment will follow in Walton Cemetery.
