Edwin R. Bell, 74 of Walton passed away surrounded by his family Thursday afternoon, January 4, 2007 at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, after a long illness.

Ed was born in Walton, the son of the late Augustus and Lavanda Bullis Bell. He was a graduate of Walton High School. Mr. Bell married the former Jane Kipp on October 21, 1961 at the Cannonsville Baptist Church. It was the last service at the church, which was razed shortly after. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was last employed by FME Fabricating Inc.

Ed is survived by his wife: Jane, a daughter, Dawn (Jack) McDowell, Sturgis, Michigan; 1 grandson, Theodore McDowell, 2 brothers, James (Katherine) Bell, Walton; Richard Murdoch Bell, Franklin, Wisconsin; a sister in law, Ann Bell, LeRoy; a brother in law, Robert Berry, Attica; his very good friend, Lou Pratti, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Douglas, and Ronald, 3 sisters, Charlotte Berry, Jean Stanton, and Dorothy Bell.

Friends and family are invited to call on Monday, January 8, 2007 from noon to 1 PM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, where services will be held at 1 PM with the Rev. Jay O'Connor, officiating. Burial will be in the Walton Cemetery, Walton.
