On Thursday, August 9, 2018, while a patient in Cooperstown Hospital Elizabeth Jones Sulger, 90, of Morris, NY formerly of Walton went to be with her Savior.

Elizabeth was born on June 22, 1928 in Walton, the daughter of the late Sheldon and Florence (Borden) Jones. She met Robert Douglas Sulger while working at the Walton Reporter and they were married on August 15, 1948. He predeceased her in 2010.

Elizabeth worked in the Townsend School for many years. She so enjoyed seeing the students coming through the cafeteria line and upon retirement would take yearly trips the first week of September because she yearned for the school atmosphere. She was a member of the Riverside Alliance Church and faithfully taught preschoolers in Sunday School for many years.

Elizabeth loved working in her flower beds, attending historical society events, and taking long rides to see the newborn farm animals. She made certain her children and grandchildren attended Delta Lake Bible Camp and/or 4H Camp Shankitunk both of which she'd attended as a young girl.

Elizabeth is survived by her brother, Richard Jones of Stamford, NY; three children: Shirley (Dale Estus) and Sharlene (Murray) and Timothy (Deborah) Sulger 14 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her sisters Linda Tines and Frances Segarra.

A service will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 1 PM at the Riverside Alliance Church with committal in the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton with Pastor Matthew Thornton officiating.
