Elsie C. Cowan, 85, of Walton passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY.

Elsie was born May 25, 1927 in Shaver Hollow, NY the daughter of the late Murray and Flora Ruth (Price) Wilcox. On August 5, 1952 she married William David Cowan.

Elsie was employed by Cortland Corsett in Cortland, NY as a Pocket Sewer. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, knitting, and she liked to read a good book.

Elsie is survived by her children, her daughters, Melanie Marquardt of Jacksonville, IL; Robin (Stephan) Johnson of Newport, OR; David (Bobbie Sue) Cowan of North Bend, OR; her grandchildren, Brandon, Catheryn Alexandra, Gabrielle Rose, Hunter, her special friends, Marie Card and Norma Vigas, and many cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, William in February 1995, her granddaughter, Vanessa Cowan and her sister, Georgiana Heeman.

A graveside service will be held at the Andes Cemetery in the spring.
