IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Emelia Grace
Kilmer
May 24, 2008 – September 7, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Emelia Grace Kilmer, who left this world far too soon on September 7, 2025, at the tender age of 17. Emelia, born on May 24, 2008, was a bright light in the lives of those who knew her. She possessed a spirit that radiated kindness, accompanied by a contagious smile that could brighten even the darkest of days.
Emelia was a vibrant spirit with a profound love for animals and a passion for creativity. She found joy in writing and drawing, often expressing herself through her art. Emelia's adventurous spirit led her to embrace life's challenges with remarkable courage and determination. She had dreams of one day owning her own bakery, a dream that began in second grade with her initiation of the popular "Cupcake Wars" at Townsend School, a cherished tradition that continues to bring joy to her peers.
Emelia's love for spending time with her family and friends was evident in all she did. Her kindness, compassion, and infectious laughter will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Emelia leaves behind her devoted parents, Shannon and Joseph Kilmer, and countless friends whose lives she touched.
Emelia is survived by her loving family, her mother Shannon (Geoffrey) Gould, of Walton, her father Joseph (Brandi) Kilmer of Walton, brother Ian (Akyra Barriger) Kilmer, sister Alexandra (Brandon) Fitch, of Chenango Forks, step brother, Corbyn Shackelton, of Walton, two nieces; Peyton and Gretchen Fitch, paternal grandparents; Roger and Paulette Kilmer of Walton and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Emelia is predeceased by her uncle James Kilmer, her cousin Zachary Kilmer and her maternal grandmother Patricia Crandall.
Calling hours will be held Saturday September 13, 2025, at New Hope Church 11-1pm, service at 1pm with Pastor Larry Light officiating, and burial to follow at the Walton Cemetery.
In these difficult times, may we find comfort in the love and memories we shared with Emelia, as she continues to live on in our hearts. Rest peacefully, dear Emelia. You will always be our shining star.
