Esther L. Crandall, 78, a lifelong resident of Walton, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 29, 2010 at home surrounded by her family.

Esther was born on July 14, 1931 in Franklin, the daughter of the late Roy and Luella (Walley) Seward. On July 21, 1956 she married Adelbert Crandall. He died on November 5, 1989.

Esther enjoyed growing flowers, baking, garage sales and flea markets. She loved, and was good at, taking care of her family; watching the kids and grand kids.

She is survived by five daughters: Elizabeth (Russ) Mallery of Walton, NY, Diane Crandall of Walton, NY, Caroline (Robert) Condon of AZ, Theresa (John) Stevens of Walton, NY, Jean (randy) Hulse of Walton, NY and two sons: James Seward of Port Dixon, NY, Eugene Crandall of Walton, 20 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren,a brother-in-law, Myron Schoener, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son David Crandall, sisters, Marion Tuttle, Thelma Schoener, and Francis Seward, brothers, Earl E. Seward, Norris Seward, Ralph R. Seward, Elwood Seward, Wilmont Seward, Frederick R. Seward, and Victor D. Seward

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
