Esther "Mammy" Geer passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013 in her beloved home. She was surrounded with family remembering all the good times and laughs everyone shared over the years. She spent her full, amazing 94 years in the home she was born in. Esther was born January 3, 1919, the daughter of Arthur & Frances Holley. She was the fourth of five children, she was the last surviving member of the family.

Esther graduated from Walton Central School in 1937. On October 24, 1947 she married Herschel Geer who predeceased her in 1986.

Esther and Herschel ran the family farm on Pines Brook. Esther was very content living her humble life on the farm. Along with the farm work she was employed at Amphenol (Scintilla) in Sidney, NY from 1961 until she retired in 1984. After her retirement she worked at homecare, took care of her grandchildren and was always visiting and helping her many friends.

She was the oldest member of the First Congregational Church in Walton, NY. She was a loyal member all of her life, as her parents were also members of the church.

Mammy left behind a family who will miss her dearly, including her children Judy and Ken Reynolds, Carol and Fred Avila, her precious grandchildren Jodi and Bill Supernault of Camillus, NY, Katie and Jarred Ertola of Milford, PA, Nikki Avila/Nate Shelton of Castleton, NY, Samantha Geer, Kenny Reynolds/Megan Phoenix and Holley Reynolds all of Walton, NY. As well as her great grandchildren Aleyna and Julia Supernault and soon to be Ava Reynolds. She also leaves behind her constant and loyal companions, Andy and Bella. Esther was predeceased by her son, Robert Geer in 2002. The family knows that she was met at the gates by her husband, Herschel and son Bob. Mammy will always be remembered and loved in her family's hearts, especially for her strength, compassion and love for simple things in life.

Calling hours will be at Esther's home, Left Pines Brook Rd, Walton, NY on Saturday 9/21/2013 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be on Sunday 9/22/13 at 2:00 PM at the First Congregational Church, North Street, Walton, NY with the Rev. Bert More and Rev. Janet Schwengber, officiating.
