Esther L. Stockwell, 92, formerly of Arkville passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Robinson Terrace in Stamford, following a long illness.

Esther was born on April 17, 1930 in Liberty, NY. On June 6, 1998 she married Lester B. Stockwell Jr., he predeceased her in 2018. She worked for many years at Bard-Parker in Hancock.

Esther enjoyed reading books, watching golf and baseball especially, her favorite team the Atlanta Braves. She loved to travel, taking trips to North Carolina with the family and visiting Hawaii.

Esther is survived by her loving family, her grandchildren, Lori Scott of MS, Roberta Angle MS, Patrick (Crystal) Wood, MS, Ken (Jodi) Wood of TC, Christina (Johnny) Waldo, MS, Tim Wood, Walton, Daniel P. Wood, Jr., Oneonta, Mike Klinegardner, Roscoe, John Rolfe, Walton, Mary Garone, Walton, Brittney Bates, Walton, great grandchildren, special daughter, Mary Rolfe, Walton; Carol Wood, MS, stepchildren, Roy and Georgia Stockwell, Archie and Kim Stockwell, Lester and Beth Stockwell III, Cliff Stockwell, Judy and Robert Grube, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband, Clifford Wood, Sr., her sons, Clifford Wood, Jr., Danny Wood,Sr, and Robert and Gina Wood.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 11AM at the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
