Faustina Higgins, 96, of Walton passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Chestnut Park Nursing Home in Oneonta, following a long illness..

Faustina was born on June 7, 1920 in Cundinamarca, Columbia the daughter of the late Delfina and Ernesto (Gomez) Castro. She was married to Joseph Higgins. He died on October 12, 1985. Faustina was a Hotel Maid in New York City for many years.

Faustina is survived by her son, John D. Higgins of Hobart, New York, and cousins..

A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 11AM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton with Rev. Edward J. Golding, officiating. Burial will be held privately at St. Mary's Cemetery in New Bedford, MA.
