Florence M. Grogan, 60, of Walton, passed away Friday night, February 28, 2014 at Bassett Healthcare of Cooperstown, NY. Florence was born on August 25, 1953 in Queens NY, the daughter of the late James and Gloria (Dooley) Grogan.

Florence moved to Walton about 25 years ago from College Point. She enjoyed BINGO, watching game shows, Rachel Ray, and Big Brother on TV. She looked forward to calling her grandchildren to let them know when their favorite TV show/movies were on and spending time with her family and friends relaxing in the sun on beautiful summer days. Flo had a beautiful soul and was the best mother one could ask for. She was known as the "neighborhood Mother" and opened her home to so many people who needed a loving and safe place to be. Flo was a woman who lived by such little means and was selfless when it came the needs of others. Flo had a lot of pride and love for her children and grand children. She took every opportunity to brag when able and looked forward to sleepovers with her grandchildren. Flo never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or any other special occasion that was important to the ones she loved.

Florence is survived by her loving family, her son, Michael Otto and Marie Watkins, Walton; her daughter, Lee Ann Otto and Craig Murphy of Walton; 3 grandchildren, Diamond, Aaliyah and Olivia, two sisters: Gloria Donahue of Long Island and Mary Grogan of Flushing; and three brothers, James And Lila Grogan of Bayside, NY, Thomas Grogan of Long Island, and Matthew Grogan of Bayside, NY; special friends, Brandi Klinegardner, Walton and Jennifer Wright, New Jersey and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Florence was predeceased by 2 sisters, Liz Jumbo and Sally Kenirey.

Friends are invited to call on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, where a Prayer Service will be held at 1 PM with the Rev. Edward J. Golding, officiating.
