Florence Nichols, 93, former resident Walton passed away Thursday evening, November 11, 2010 at Countryside Care Center in Delhi , following a long illness.

Florence was born on August 4, 1917 in Afton, the daughter of the late Irving and Hazel Combs More. On April 28, 1945 she married William Nichols in Afton. He predeceased her on October 19, 2000.

Florence enjoyed knitting, baking her specialty chocolate chip cookies, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was employed by Del-Met of Walton as a Painter for many years.

Florence is survived by four daughters, Dawn (Jim) Merwin, Walton; Delores (Steve) Kohl, Tempe, AZ; Deb (Mike) Gleason, Fabius; Darlene (Ivan) Stanton, Walton; her grandchildren, Shawn (Beth), Shane (Lorrie), Seth, Ryan (Jenny), Stephanie (Adam), Scott (Abby), Matt (Lori), Mike (Emily), Nicholas, Rayne (Skyler), Jace, her great grandchildren, Shane James, Meka, Rory, Ava, Max, Colin, Brynlee, one sister, Barbara Williams, Oxford; her sister in law, Helen Nichols, her brother in law, Mervin Conklin, her two special girls, Megan and Kaitlyn, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents Florence was predeceased by her brothers, Robert, Irving, Jerry and her sisters, Dorotha, Sally, and Lucille.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 11 AM at the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton with the Rev. Jennifer Kimball officiating.
