Florence A. Shaffer, 78 a life long resident of Colchester, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2007 in Countryside Care Center, Delhi, after a long illness.

Florence was born in the town Of Colchester, on September 22, 1929 the daughter of the late Leon and Ada (Fuller) Signor. Mrs. Shaffer married Stanley Shaffer on June 8, 1957 at Corbett. She was a 4-H leader, and loved to knit. Florence was long time member of the Colchester Community Church.

Survived by her loving husband, Stanley, one daughter: Louise Shaffer of Delhi, NY and sons: Gerald (Debra) Mondore of Walton, and Shayne Shaffer, Margaretville; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by brothers, Victor Signor, Ernest Hochkiss, and Lloyd Hochkiss, and 1 sister, Letha Meade.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Monday, November 12, 2007 from 6 to 8 PM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton where services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday with the Rev. Dale Ashby, officiating. Burial will follow in Gregorytown Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in Florence's memory may be made to Catskill Area Hospice, 1 Birchwood Dr. Oneonta, NY 13820.
