Floyd N. Birdsall, 55, of Hamden, died on Saturday evening, May 16, 2009 at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.

Mr. Birdsall was born in Delhi on June 19, 1953, the son of the late Donald F. and Freda Henderson Birdsall.

He graduated from Delaware Academy and also attended BOCES for Welding and Mechanical programs. Floyd owned and operated Birdsall Farms, raising livestock.

Mr. Birdsall was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and snowmobiling, Floyd also loved to read. He was a member of the Hamden Ridge Riders snowmobile club and was a supporter of Arbor Day and Hospice.

He is survived by his daughters, Desiree Birdsall of Stamford and Carissa Birdsall of Syracuse; one brother, James E. Birdsall of Walton and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides his parents, Floyd was predeceased by his brother Donald A. Birdsall.

Friends and family may call on Thursday, May 21, 2009 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, May 22 at the DeLancey Presbyterian Church, County Route 2, DeLancey. Burial will follow at Walton Cemetery, Walton.
