Obituary

Francis C. Cowen of Bainbridge, NY passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at his home.

Frank was born on November 10, 1954 in Utica, NY. He was the only son of the late Stuart & Rose Cowen of Waterville, NY. Born and raised on a dairy farm, taught Frank to work hard, have faith and believe in everything he did. Lessons that Frank used and passed on to his family along with many more people he met throughout his life.

Frank is a 1972 graduate of Waterville Central School and a 1974 graduate of SUNY Canton. While attending high-school in Waterville, Frank met his "high-school sweetheart" and the love of his life and someone he would be with every single day, his wife Julee Cowen of Bainbridge, NY.

Along with his wife Julee, Frank is survived by his oldest son Seth and his wife Rachele, their 3-year old son Ryder, and their 2nd expected child due in February 2015 from Syracuse, NY. Frank is also survived by his middle son, Brett and his wife Sarah from Bainbridge, NY. Lastly, Frank is survived by his youngest son Ethan from Chicago, IL. One of Frank's proudest moments as a father was when all three of his sons earned their Bachelor's Degree from Syracuse University and continued to earn their Legal and MBA degrees. "The Cowen Boys" have always credited their success to their father, Frank, who always taught them to be the very best, work hard, and believe in themselves.

Frank had a long successful career as a sales manager in the agriculture, healthcare, financial, and legal industries. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians of Broome County. Frank was also a member of the Afton Golf Club in Afton, NY and Sundown Golf & Country Club in Bainbridge, NY. Frank was a proud season ticket holder of the Binghamton Senators Hockey team. Frank loved to golf and cheer for his beloved New York Giants and Syracuse Orange. He enjoyed visiting the Guilford Quickway every morning and being with his friends every week in the summer at the Afton Golf Course Thursday Night Golf League. His greatest moments and memories have been the time spent with his family and recently the time spent with his grandson Ryder who was the best friend and the biggest fan of "Pop Pop."

Frank Cowen was one of a kind and a once in a lifetime person. He was beloved by all who met him and his greatest gift was his ability to bring out the greatness and beauty in everyone he met. Frank was special and will always be missed, but he will always be there with a smile, a joke, and words of love and care. We will always love you Frank and Dad!
