Fred L. "Butch" Beers, Jr., 35, of Walton passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at home.

Butch was born July 12, 1976 in Walton, the son of Fred and Elaine (Prentice) Beers. He was employed as a stone cutter for his father at Beers Stone, Co. in Trout Creek.

Fred loved his family and his children meant the world to him. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races and cheering for his favorite driver, # 17 Matt Kenseth and watching his favorite football team, the Buffalo Bills.

Fred is survived by his loving family, his children, Kiersten and Damien Beers of Walton, his mother and father, Fred and Elaine Beers of Sidney Center; his sister, Teri (Scott) McGonigle of Walton; his grandmother, Janet Prentice of Greene; the mother of his children, Amy Campbell of Walton; his special friend, Tim Bennett; his niece and nephew, Hunter and Bailey and many cousins. Fred was predeceased by his grandparents, Byron & Charlotte Beers and Bradley Prentice, his aunt, Elizabeth Montgomery.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Wednesday evening, September 28, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
