Frederick Gordon Miller Jr.,77 of Walton, passed Saturday morning October 9 2004 at Countryside Care Center after a long illness.
Mr. Miller was born in Danbury, CT, on May 27, 1927 the son of Frederick G. and Lilly Eugenie Henriksen Miller Sr. He came to the Walton area in 1967, and was employed as a truck driver for Dellwood Foods. On June 19, 1993 he married the former Vivian M. Storrer at Loomis Brook. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII as a communications specialist. He was a member of the Hamden Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.
He is survived by his wife: Vivian Hitt Miller, three daughters: L. Jean and James Covington of Oldsman, FL, Joyce and John Deubler of Passedena, MD, Janet and Charles Holliday of Kentucky, 15 step children, Fred and Deb Hitt, Tim Hitt and Lorraine Walley, Lisa and Mark Pierce, Julie and Steve Condon, all of Walton; Terry and Shawn Hitt, and Robert and Sandra Hitt both of Boonville, NY; Edward Hitt and Geraldine McCarthy of Greene; Melanie Watson and Scott Davis, Tricia and Phil Cole, Betsy and Arnie Drumm, Wendy and Mike Layton, all of Sidney Center; Steven and Kelly Hitt of North Brookfield MA; Kitty and Jim Smith of Bath, NY; Kristy and Davey Kotorman, of Clayton, NC and Lacey and Cecil Davis, of Bloomville, 9 grand children, 38 step-grandchildren' and several great and step great grandchildren. . .
Mr. Miller was predeceased by a daughter, Kathy Oliver, in 1998; a son, Kenneth Miller, in 1990 and a brother, Francis Miller in 2003.
Calling hours for friends and family will be Tuesday evening October 12, 2004 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM where services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton with Elder Ralph Kniskern, officiating.
Memorial contributions in Mr. Miller's memory may be made to Catskill Area Hospice, 542 Main St. Oneonta, NY 12820. Envelopes for memorial contributions are available from the funeral home.
Burial will be in Walton Cemetery.
