Frederick Whitehead went to be with the Lord on October 16, 2017 in Zephyrhills Florida after a prolonged recovery from an accident.

Fred was born December 3, 1935 in Queens New York. He served proudly on the USS Saratoga during the Korean War. After re-marrying, he and Marilyn moved to Downsville New York in 1977. He enjoyed many different career opportunities throughout his life and loved the outdoors the Catskills offered. An avid fisherman and woodworker, he also spent a considerable amount of time gardening and tending house. In later years, after moving to Florida, his passion turned to riding his three-wheeled bike all over town and became a local celebrity with his gregarious nature and infectious laugh.

He is predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Marilyn Whitehead (Connelly) and Mother-in-Law Harriet Beatrice Schneider. He is survived by his two children, Brian Connelly, Mary Alice Connelly and 3 children from a previous marriage, Fred Jr., Geralyn, and Laura. He is also survived by three Grandchildren, Caleb Connelly, Jacob Henderson, and Ashlynn Connelly, Great Granddaughter Serenity Henderson, Brother James Whitehead, as well as many nieces and nephews.

There will be a short graveside service on Tuesday, May 15th at 12pm at Paige Cemetery, Downsville with Father R. L. Donahue presiding.
