It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frederick R. Wright on March 19, 2025, at the age of 79. Fred was born on April 21, 1945, in Franklin Depot, NY to Harold and Harriet (Gilbert) Wright.

Fred graduated from Walton Central School in 1964. After graduating Fred went on to serve his country in the United States Navy.

Fred worked at Bailey's Wood Factory for 35 years until they closed the building in Walton. He then worked for another 30 years at what is now known as Empire Metals in Walton.

In November of 1969, Fred married Priscilla M. McElroy in Oneonta, NY. They were married for 30 years before her passing in March of 2000.

Frederick enjoyed spending time with his loving family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Fred made a point to be at every game that he could attend, every concert or play, every sports award banquets, graduations, every birthday party and every other sort of family gather he could. His family was his pride and joy!

Fred is survived by his children; Michael (Terri) Wright of Walton, NY and Sheryl (Tyler) Crandall of Walton, NY. His grandchildren; Michael (Abby) Wright Jr of Morris, NY; Jacob (Kiana) Wright of Sidney Center, NY; David (Alex) Wright of Meeker, OK; Kylie (Matthew) Sinistore of Walton, NY; Zachary Coviello of Walton, NY; Stacia Crandall of Walton, NY; Carissa Crandall of Bainbridge, NY. Great Grandchildren; Jasper, Leyna and Milo Wright, Xavier, Hudson and Luka Sinistore and Willadean Wright. Brother, Edward Wright of Bainbridge, NY and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Fred was predeceased by his parents Harold and Harriet Wright, his brothers, James Wright and Mitch Wright and his sister Jeanette Markel. His companion of many years, Yvonne Wright.

Calling hours will be held 4PM to 7PM on Thursday, March 27th at Courtney Funeral Home at 25 Townsend St in Walton, NY. A celebration of Life will be held on April 26th held by the family will be at the Walton Vet's Club at 10 Park St in Walton at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Walton Vet's Club at 10 Park Street, Walton NY 13856 in Fred's name.
