IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gary Charles
Brundege
September 3, 1955 – December 20, 2013
Gary Charles Brundege, Sr., 58, a lifelong resident of Walton, passed away unexpectedly on December 20, 2013.
Gary was born on September 3, 1955 at the Smith Hospital in Walton; the son of the late Charles V. Brundege and Willa E. (Teachout) Harris, "Midge". On March 21, 1998 Gary married the former Kathleen (Marcy) Terry.
Gary was employed by Gentex in Carbondale, PA where he worked as a painter of Military helmets. He was proud to have a career that provided a service to our soldiers.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting in his earlier years; both interests which his mother Midge contributed to his life. Gary loved his cats and lost his buddy Banjo in October but still had his little girl cat Fiona. He was a member of the Apex Rod and Gun Club and Walton Fire Department.
Gary was caring man who devoted his life to his family and friends, always trying to help anyone in need. Even after his death he helped many of those in need by participating in the Gift of Life Donor Program.
Gary is survived by his loving family; his wife Kathleen Brundege; mother Midge and stepfather Millard E. "Bub" Harris of Walton; children Gary C. Brundege, Jr. "Tigger" of Oneonta; Isabelle Brundege-Wood and husband Josh Wood of Oneonta; Amelia "Amy" Brundege and fiancé Brett Johnson of Johnson City; his stepchildren Mike Terry of South Kortright; Kevin (Sherry) Terry of South Kortright; Lori Terry-Courtney and husband Bobby Joe of Houston, TX; grandchildren Ariel Terry and Alex Terry of South Kortright; brother Robert L. Terry of Sidney Center; sister-in-law Patricia Houck of Walton; brother-in-law Russel J. Marcy of Cooperstown; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his father Charles Vernon Brundege.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2013 at 11AM at New Hope Community Church, 45 Stockton Avenue, Walton with the Rev. Larry Light, officiating.
"I'm no longer by your side, but there's no need to weep; I've left sweet recollections I'm hoping you will keep. Eternal joy and memories stay in our hearts forever, Strengthening our special bond that parting cannot sever. Now it's time to journey on, so let your faith be strong, For I am in a better place… I'm home where I belong. And if times of loneliness bring sorrow and dismay, Don't despair, for I am there"…
