Gary L. Vermilyea, 58, of Trout Creek, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Albany Medical Center following a short illness.

Gary was born on June 25, 1957 in Walton, the son of Oscar "Buck" and Fannie (Mills) Vermilyea.

Gary loved to spend time outdoors going fishing, cheering for his favorite teams, the NY GIANTS and the NY Yankees. He also enjoyed visiting with friends, old and new.

Gary is survived by his loving family, his mother, Fannie of Sidney Center; aunts and uncles, Sandra Gardepe of Sidney; Patricia and James Gardepe of Walton; Barbara and Ken Keuhn of Guilford, Wellington Mills, Trout Creek; cousin and caregiver, Deb and Michael Mills of Sidney Center. He was predeceased by his father, Oscar "Buck" Vermilyea.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 31 at Carroll Cemetery, Trout Creek, with the Rev. David Gatje officiating. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
