Gay Edith Ward, loving wife of Edward M. Ward, originally from New Rochelle, Rye and Walton NY passed away Sunday May 22, 2011 surrounded by her family.

She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Gay was a nurse at the Port Chester Nursing Home for many years. She enjoyed bowling and volunteering at the hospital in Walton. She loved reading, enjoyed knitting, playing Bingo, and also loved to cook and bake, especially lots of pies.

Gay is survived by her husband, Edward M. Ward, her children, Susanne (Craig Connolly), Virginia (John Treganowan), Robin (Ed Dassler), James Ward, and Frank Ward. She also had 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 foster daughter Charlene Rogers, a sister Anne (Robert Verrill) and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday afternoon, May 24, 2011 at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, NY.
