Obituary

George W. Miller, 95, of Dunk Hill, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2007 at the home of his grandson, Joseph Trotta in New Orleans, after a long illness.

George was born in Jersey City, NJ,on June 4, 1911, the son of the late William and Amelia (Linder) Miller. In 1935 he eloped with the former Helen Thiel who predeceased him in 1981. He lived in the Walton area from 1978 to 2004, until the onset of illness. He served the WPA and his country, and his was the last signature of the WPA. He was employed as an accountant and chief auditor for N.E. Sentry Insurance of Morristown, NJ.

George enjoyed fishing, he loved animals and pigeons and was especially devoted to his family.

He is survived by two daughters: Joan "Joni" (Tom) Trotta of Orlando, Florida, Helen (Phil) Marotto of Hampstead, North Carolina, one son, Joseph Miller of Walton. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and several cousins. He was predeceased by a son, George Jr. Miller, (Joseph's Twin).

Friends and family are invited to call Thursday evening, April 12, 2007 from 6 to 8 PM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Friday morning at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Walton Cemetery.
