George Stalbird 58 of Walton passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at Delaware Valley Hospital.

George was born in Walton on March 19, 1949 the son of the late John and Eleanor Everts Stalbird. George was an avid sports fan who loved the New York Football Giants. He cheered for them last week when they got into the playoffs. He also loved to travel and some of his journeys were to Michigan and to Washington DC for tha Air and Space Museum. He was a gentle soul who loved going out side during the warm weather where birds would often land on his wheelchair sensing his good nature. George also loved listening to spiritual music.

George is survived by his sister, Myra Hood of Tennessee, several cousins, his care providers, Elizabeth, Leslie, and Patrick Drinkwater, Walton, and his many friends at the CLS program in Walton.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Friday, January 18, 2008 from 10 to 11 AM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home 25 Townsend St. Walton where services will be held at 11 AM, with the Rev. Mark Del Giudice, officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Hamden Cemetery, in the spring.
