Obituary

Gerald Clark, 73, of Northfield passed away unexpectedly, early Thursday morning, July 8, 2010 at Wilson Memorial Hospital of Johnson City, NY.

Gerald was born on July 21, 1936 in Ellisburg, NY, the son of Arthur and Rena (Cornwell) Clark. He was a high school graduate of Belleville Central School and he was also a graduate of the New York Ranger School at Wanakena. He was employed for 29 years at the US Soil Conservation Service, retiring in 1989. On January 3, 1957 he married the former Anna Sue Daw. He later married the former Alice Alemy on May 26, 1984. She died on January 12, 2010. He proudly served his country in the US Army. Gerald was a resident of Delaware county since 1974 having moved from Little Valley.

Jerry had a strong work ethic. He felt that if you were going to do something, you needed to do it right. He loved golfing, gardening, cooking, painting, puzzles and helping with family projects. He was a former member of the Unadilla Coon Club, the Sidney Moose Club, and many horseshoe and bowling leagues.

Jerry is survived by his loving family, his mother Rena, Watertown; his children, Joyce and Chris Curtin, Sidney Center; Rebecca and Alfred Murphy, Rodman; step-children, Susan and Michael Howe, Walton, Edward and Darlene Mirrer, Walton, grandchildren, Emilee and Nathan Curtin, Peter and Tammy Green, Megan and Kaitlyn Murphy, Amanda and Mike Hall, Amber Wilson, Dustin Howe and Brandon Mirrer, great-grandchildren, Ethan Hall, Sierra and Nate Stone, and Aubrey Green, sister, Shirley Parkinson, Calcium, NY; brother, Howard and Mary Clark, Ellisburg, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Arthur and a son, Robert.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Monday Morning, July 12, 2010 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, where services will be held at 1 PM. Burial will follow with full military honors.
