Gerardo E. Perez, 85, of Walton passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 at Roscoe Community Nursing Home following a long illness.

Gerardo was born on September 24, 1932 in Santa Rita, Cuba. The son of the late Aladino and Guillermina (Aguero) Perez. On June 15, 1957 he married the love of his life, Dora Rosado, in Havana Cuba.

They moved from Havana, Cuba to Rochester, NY in 1970 where they made their home for 36 years. In 2006, they moved to Walton to be closer to their family.

Gerardo worked at Eastman Kodak for many years. He loved spending time and attending church with his family, working on vehicles, gardening and puttering around the house. Watching westerns and sports on television were a couple of his pastimes. Boxing and baseball were his favorite sports; he especially enjoyed watching the Yankees play.

Gerardo was predeceased by his loving wife, Dora, five brothers, one sister and one granddaughter, Allyson. Gerardo is survived by his family, daughters Keren (Ken) Fisher of Walton, Isabel Mayer of Leesburg, Virginia; grandchildren Kaylee, Sean (Kasey), Jessica (Tyler), Nicole and Sydney.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 55 Townsend St. Walton, with the Rev. Jay O'Connor officiating. Burial will follow at the Walton Cemetery. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
