Gertrude J. Arbona, 80, of Downsville, formerly of Bayside Queens, passed away Tuesday morning, September 28, 2010 at O'Connor Hospital, Delhi; following a long illness.

Gertrude was born on February 3, 1930 in Manhattan the daughter of the late Paul and Josephine (Benson) Emond. She was a receptionist for Elmhurst Dairy in Queens, New York. Gertrude was a faithful member of St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Bayside.

She enjoyed listening to music, being outside, especially when the leaves were changing, also fishing at Alley Pond Park and Oakland Lake.

Gertrude is survived by her children, James (Mary) Lettis, Port Jefferson Station; Paul (Mary) Lettis, Floral Park; Stephen (Wendy) Lettis, Dix Hills, G. J. (Bob) Strain of Downsville; and Chris (Debbie) Arbona, Elmont; and stepdaughter, Maryann (Bob) Stanczyk,Downsville; her grandchildren; Jimmy, Jeannette, Sean, Mikey, Katie; Nicholas, Ali, Nicole, Jonathon; Casey, Kyal, her great grandchildren; Madisen and Jordan, her brother; Roderick (Carol) Emond, She was predeceased by three brothers; Edward, Raymond, and Paul.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 9:15AM at Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church, 2 Floral Parkway, Floral Park, New York.
