Gina M. Wood, 65, of Walton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown following a brief illness.

Born February 3, 1956 in Sidney, NY, she was a daughter of the late Pete Steele and Beverly Shaver.

Gina worked for several business in the Walton area over the years to include Burns Furniture, Delaware County ARC, UHS Hospital and most recently as a Teacher's Aide at Townsend Elementary. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and never missed a school activity or sporting event. Gina always looked forward to her phones calls with her grandson Isaac. She had a passion for baking, and shared that passion with her grandchildren Will, Peyton and Isaac. When the Gorilla Grapplers Wrestling Club had a bake sale you could always count on Gina's famous cinnamon buns. She loved to travel to Wisconsin to visit Sonia, Jason and Isaac. Gina was a caregiver to her late husband Bob's grave along with her parents over at Walton Cemetery always making sure to plant flowers.

Survivors include her children Sonia Barager (Jason), Jeremy Pettit (Jenna), Kenny Wood (Jody), Mike Klinegardner and Timothy Wood; sisters Marilyn Reynolds (Tracy), Jeanette Short (John) and Marsha Bargher (Ron); grandchildren Dylan Wood, Isaac Barager, Will Pettit and Peyton Pettit and dear friend Linda Belmont. Besides her parents, Gina is predeceased by her husband Bob Wood and brother James "Jim" Steele.

Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 3-5 P.M. at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton.

A graveside service to celebrate Gina's life will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 11AM at the Walton Cemetery with Rev. Bert More, officiating.
