It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glenda M. McEntee, who left us on May 4, 2026, at the age of 78. She was born on September 8, 1947, to her parents Roger Simmons and Ada Card. Glenda was a cherished friend, a beloved colleague, and a devoted member of her community, Glenda’s warmth and laughter touched the lives of many.
Glenda lived a life full of love and joy, finding her greatest happiness in the company of her grandkids, whom she adored and loved to bake with them. Glenda enjoyed regular outings to McDonald's with her friends, and crocheting. She was also a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Glenda's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a faithful churchgoer, deeply involved in her church community, bringing her compassionate spirit and vibrant presence to every gathering.
Glenda is survived by her beloved family, her children; Roger McEntee, Roland McEntee, Ralph McEntee (Tia) and Mae Banks, her grandchildren; Dustin, Danielle, Elizabeth, Alexa, Landon, Anderson, Kristen, Joey, and Destiny, and her great grandson Hudson.
Glenda was preceded in death by her husband Donald McEntee, brother Donald Simmons and her parents Roger and Ada Simmons.
Calling hours for Glenda will be held Monday May 11th, 2026 11am-1pm, service at 1pm with Pastor Bob Wilkie officiating.
Funeral services will take place at New Hope Community Church located at 45 Stockton Ave, Walton, NY 13856. Burial to follow at the Walton Cemetery, located at 55 Fancher Ave, Walton, NY 13856. The family would like to invite friends and family to a meal at the Harby Center in New Hope Community Church.
Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate her life, reminiscing about shared moments and the impact she made in their lives. We will come together to honor Glenda, reflecting on the beautiful memories and the love she so freely shared.
Memorial contributions may be made in Glenda’s name to Walton Firemen’s Ladies Auxiliary 59 West Street Walton, NY 13856.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Courtney Funeral Home located at 25 Townsend St, Walton, NY.
