Glenn E. Benedict, 86 of Walton, passed away Friday evening, January 6, 2006 in Countryside Care Center, Delhi, after a long illness.

Glenn was born in Merrickville, on April 16, 1919 the son of the late Olin and Myrtle Johnston Benedict. He married the former Charlotte Forester on July 5, 1945, in Verona, NY. She survives. Glenn served his country in the Army during WW-II. He worked for over 25 years first as a truck driver and later as Transportation Manager at Breakstone's, Walton, retiring in 1971. He later worked as a truck driver for the Delaware County Highway Dept. Glenn was a member of the Wakeman Brook Sportsman Club, and the Walton Fire Dept. His true love though, was shaping oak into cabinets, bookcases, tables, and many other projects that he proudly made for his family and friends. Glenn also loved to go to the local restaurants and "spec out" trucks with his friends, over coffee.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte, 2 sons, Roger O. Benedict, and his wife, M. Diane, Walton, Scott E. Benedict, and his wife, Lisa, Unadilla, 2 daughters, Susan K. and Sandra Benedict both of Walton, daughter-in-law, Diane Benedict, Walton, 5 grandchildren, Joy Williams, Rebecca, Jessica, Amber, and Kali, Benedict, 2 nephews, David and Wayne Bullis, and several cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Lynn A. Benedict in 1996.

Funeral services will be held privately at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, Walton, with the Rev. William Robertson, officiating. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery.
