Gloria H. Clark. 94, formerly a resident of Walton, Downsville and Roscoe, passed away onTuesday, Dec. 6 at Joanne's House Hospice, Bonita Springs, FL.

Gloria was born Sept. 16, 1922 on the Crowe Farm in Bloomville, NY, the daughter of Erastus Haynes and Evelyn (Jenkins) Haynes. Always a fighter, Gloria survived the rigors of birth when her mother and a twin brother couldn't. Gloria was later adopted at the age of one by Frank and Nettie Higbie of Walton.

Gloria's mother came from England on the Lusitania. Gloria was always proud of her English/Welsh background. and made several trips to England to connect with the Jenkins family.

Nature was Gloria's passion. She drew life from the fields and forests, the sun and the clouds. Before retiring at night, she would go out to find and wonder at the moon. She was in awe of the world that enveloped her.

Gloria was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Earl L. Clark; brother Donald (Harpo) Higbie and beloved daughter Donna E. Clark.

Gloria is survived by her son, Donald E. Clark and his wife, Sherry Healy-Clark of Fort Myers, FL, grandchildren Aaron Clark of N. Andover, MA, Karen Rafferty of Hudson, NH and Seth Clark of Dracut, MA.

At Gloria's request, there will be no viewing or funeral. Burial will be in Paige Cemetery, Downsville. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
