Gordon H. Palmer, 69, of Downsville passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, October 8, 2015.

Gordon was born December 11, 1945 in Sidney, NY the son of the late Homer and Frances (Howland) Palmer. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.

On December 31, 1964 he married the former Donna Barnes in Pensacola, Florida. She predeceased him on January 21, 2013. Gordon was a Waste Treatment Operator for Elmers Glue in Bainbridge, for many years.

Gordon loved to go hunting, fishing and going to the auctions. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends having coffee at the Downsville Diner.

Gordon is survived by his brother, James McGrail of Walton; his sister, Pam Knolls of Binghamton, NY; his grandchildren, Rebecca Palmer, Samantha Palmer, Tess Palmer, his special cousin, Sandy Conklin of Downsville, NY; his special friend, Maureen Pederson of Downsville, NY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, his son, James Palmer, and his granddaughter, Alisha Palmer.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
