Harold K. Witten, 84, of Downsville died Saturday, January 24, 2015 at home. Mr. Witten was born October 25, 1930 in Queens, NY. He is the son of the late Paul and Frieda (Gaeton) Witten. On April 8, 1989 he married the former Peggy Ann Kennedy in East Northport, NY.

He retired from NYC Plumbing And Heating in Richmond Hill, NY in 1996. Harold and Peggy Ann then became permanent residents of Downsville in 1997. He was a member of the Downsville Lions Club. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and most anything related to the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife; Peggy Ann Witten, two sons; Michael Witten of Babylon, NY and Lawrence (Jeanine) Witten of Andover, MA; and their children Jessica, Victoria, and Brandon; step-daughter; Jean Sampson of East Northport, NY and her children; Elizabeth (Sal), Richard (Katie), step-son; James (Janice) Kennedy of Hauppauge, NY and their children Michael and Steven, step-daughter; Nancy Moor of Baldwinsville, NY and her children Matthew and Kathryn, step-daughter; Kathleen (Richard) Myers of East Northport, NY and their children Lauren, Karen and Christopher, great-grandsons; Andrew and Jack, sister; Julie Ann Muller of Princeton, NJ and several nieces and nephews.

Harold was predeceased by his parents, and his first wife Ruth (Muller) Witten.

A memorial service will be held on Long Island on January 31, 2015. A local service will be held at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton, NY at a time and date to be announced.
