Harriet Beatrice "Bea" Schneider, 97, of Downsville passed away Tuesday evening, April 12, 2011 at Delaware Valley Hospital following a long illness.

Bea was born on December 31, 1913 in East New York, NY. She is the daughter of the late William and Mabel (Clark) Kessler. She married Robert E. Thrush who predeceased her in 1940. She then married Charles Schneider and he predeceased her in 1979.

She was employed by Nordens Defense Plant in New York City as an Engraver. She was a member of the St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Downsville. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Grange.

She is survived by one daughter: Marilyn (Fred) Whitehead of Downsville, NY; two grandchildren, Brian Connelly; Mary Alice Connelly; her great grandchildren, Jacob, Ash Lynn, Caleb, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bea was predeceased by her step son, Robert Schneider.

Friends and family are invited to call Monday, April 18 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 19 at 1 PM at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Downsville with Father Shank officiating.
